Zalando to Deploy Nomagic Robotics' AI-Driven Robots for Automated Shoe Box Handling in Europe
Zalando is enhancing its logistics with the rollout of up to 50 AI-driven robots from Nomagic Robotics in its European distribution network. These robots, designed to address the challenge of automating shoe box handling, utilize computer vision and custom grippers to adapt their handling techniques. Nomagic, founded in 2017, has raised €70 million and aims to streamline operations in Zalando's logistics centers across Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, France, and more.

Zalando is set to deploy up to 50 AI-driven robots from Nomagic Robotics to improve its logistics operations in Europe, specifically targeting the automated handling of shoe boxes. These robots, named 'Richard', will utilize computer vision and specialized grippers to adapt their handling methods.
Nomagic Robotics, established in 2017 in Poland, has secured €70 million in funding and has previously partnered with Zalando, becoming a shareholder in 2025. The initial robots are already operational in logistics centers in Germany and Italy, with plans for installations in the Netherlands, Sweden, France, and Germany's Giessen.
