Zambia's Muntanga Uranium Project Positions Nation for Clean Energy Transition
Zambia's Muntanga Uranium Project has confirmed reserves of 28 million pounds of U₃O₈, crucial for nuclear energy. This development is aimed at enhancing energy security and diversifying the country's energy sources amid climate vulnerabilities.

Zambia has confirmed a reserve of 28 million pounds of U₃O₈ at the Muntanga Uranium Project, reinforcing its role in the global nuclear energy supply chain. This reserve, based on 39.6 million tonnes at 320 ppm U₃O₈, positions Zambia for long-term economic resilience and energy diversification.
The project, advanced by Atomic Eagle Ltd, is seen as essential for stabilizing power supply and generating export revenues. The strategic move aims to reduce reliance on hydropower, which has been vulnerable to climate change impacts. Enhanced uranium production could modernize the energy grid through investments in solar, wind, and transmission infrastructure.
