Zeotech Begins On-Site Methane Control Trials at Queensland Landfill with Griffith University
Zeotech is set to launch a seven-month on-site trial of its methane emissions control solution at a Queensland landfill, following a research partnership with Griffith University. Building on previous successful simulated tests, the trial will gather over 800 data points to enhance methane reduction effectiveness, addressing the lack of infrastructure at many Australian landfills. The initiative aims to demonstrate the commercial viability of Zeotech's technology in support of Australia's emissions reduction goals.

Zeotech will initiate an on-site validation trial of its methane emissions control solution at a landfill in North Burnett Regional Council, following a research agreement with Griffith University. This trial, starting in February 2026 and lasting seven months, builds on successful simulated trials completed in May 2025, where the zeoteCH₄ biofilter reduced methane emissions by over 90%.
The trial aims to collect more than 800 data points to optimize methane elimination rates in real-world conditions. Zeotech emphasizes the need for effective methane capture solutions, as most of Australia's 1,168 landfills lack the necessary infrastructure. The company aims to demonstrate the commercial viability of its technology to assist in meeting Australia's emissions reduction targets.
