ZimGreenCo and Dolcin Trading Finalize 25-Year Power Deal for 50MW Solar Plant in Zimbabwe
The 25-year power purchase agreement facilitates a 50MW solar project in Zimbabwe, enhancing the country's renewable energy capacity. This initiative is crucial for addressing chronic energy shortages and supporting industrial growth.

ZimGreenCo has entered a 25-year power purchase agreement with Dolcin Trading for a 50-megawatt solar photovoltaic plant near Chegutu, Zimbabwe. The project is developed by Sigma Solar Africa and aims to supply power to large industrial consumers, marking a significant advancement in the country's renewable energy sector.
This deal builds upon a prior Systems Operations Agreement signed in 2024, enabling the transmission of privately generated electricity through the national grid. The facility is expected to become one of Zimbabwe's largest independent power producer projects. The agreement's long-term nature is anticipated to secure financing and provide revenue certainty for investors, while also addressing the nation's power shortages.
