54-Unit Housing Development Proposed for Oak Bay Waterfront
Aryze Developments, in partnership with Songhees First Nation, has proposed a 54-unit apartment building in Oak Bay, aimed at enhancing housing diversity. The project seeks to integrate sustainable practices and public access to waterfront areas.

Aryze Developments proposes a six-storey, 54-unit residential project at 951 Beach Dr., with 43 two-bedroom and 11 three-bedroom units, on a 1.4-acre site. The development will include public waterfront access, lookout terraces, and a gas-free operation using geothermal energy systems.
Intended to assist Oak Bay in meeting its housing target of 3,761 new units over 20 years, the project aims to create a transition between high-density and single-family areas. Feedback from a recent open house indicated mixed responses regarding the project's height and density. Oak Bay council will evaluate the proposal in upcoming meetings.
