Dublin is set to see a new data centre investment of up to €5bn, focusing on microgrid technology to mitigate energy consumption concerns. The initiative includes the development of five projects: four data centres and one additional facility with high energy usage. This technology enables the facilities to operate on renewable energy sources and allows for excess energy to be fed back into the grid, addressing sustainability challenges in the sector.
