75% of Seara's Integrated Farms Utilize Clean Energy Sources

BIOFUELSSOLAR ENERGY

Approximately 75% of Seara's integrated poultry and swine producers have adopted clean and renewable energy sources, including solar panels and biodigesters. The initiative is part of JBS's sustainability strategy, offering technical support for technology implementation across Brazil.

In poultry farming, over 73% operate with solar energy, with Bahia and Paraná at 82%, followed by Mato Grosso do Sul (81%) and Minas Gerais (77%). Six years ago, only 5.6% used solar energy, marking a 1,200% increase.

Integrated farms generated 215.4 million kWh of solar energy in the last year. In swine farming, 46% of properties with biodigestor potential have installed these systems, particularly in the Central-West region.

Biodigestors convert animal waste into biogas and biofertilizer, significantly reducing environmental impact. The renewable energy adoption enhances profitability and allows for investments in automation and technology.
