Aboitiz Construction Celebrates First Anniversary of Service Agreement with Aboitiz Renewables' Geothermal Arm
Aboitiz Construction is commemorating a significant milestone: the first anniversary of its three-year service agreement with Aboitiz Renewables’ geothermal subsidiary, AP Renewables, Inc. This partnership, initiated in September 2024, encompasses essential maintenance services for the Makban Geothermal Power Plant, strategically situated across Laguna and Batangas. The agreement involves routine and outage maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and condition monitoring tasks.
Antonio Penalver, Executive Director of Aboitiz Construction, highlighted that this achievement not only underscores the company’s technical proficiency but also reflects its steadfast commitment to excellence in execution and teamwork—values that underpin every project. In tandem with its work at Makban, Aboitiz Construction also extends its maintenance expertise to APRI’s Tiwi geothermal power plant in Albay, delivering a comprehensive suite of services ranging from building upkeep to heavy equipment preventive maintenance and leasing.
The company’s maintenance division plays a pivotal role across various industries, offering tailored solutions for coal, oil, and liquefied natural gas facilities. Penalver noted that collaborations of this nature reinforce Aboitiz Construction’s vital position in addressing the energy and infrastructure demands of the nation. The milestone celebration coincides with the company’s own 50th anniversary, marking a moment of reflection and pride in its enduring legacy.
