AFRY to Manage New Transformer Substation Project for Statnett in Norway
AFRY has been appointed as the client representative and project management partner for a transformer substation in Onarheim, Norway. This project, commissioned by Statnett, aims to enhance power system reliability and facilitate industrial growth. The facility will be a modern 420/300/132 kV substation constructed near Husnes, contributing to increased capacity and operational reliability. Construction is set to begin in 2026, with completion expected in 2029. The contract is valued at approximately NOK 93 million.

AFRY has been selected as the client representative and project management partner for a transformer substation project in Onarheim, Norway, on behalf of Statnett. This infrastructure project aims to strengthen power system reliability and support electrification and industrial development.
The new substation will be a 420/300/132 kV facility near Husnes, enhancing capacity and operational flexibility. Following the planning phase, Statnett confirmed AFRY's role in executing the project, which involves comprehensive project management, supervising civil works, and coordinating stakeholders. The construction is scheduled to start in 2026 and be completed by 2029, with a contract value of approximately NOK 93 million.
