The AICTE has introduced the ATAL Academy Offline Faculty Development Programs for the 2026-27 academic year, focusing on enhancing faculty skills in emerging technologies and pedagogy. This initiative supports the National Education Policy 2020 and aims to position India as a global knowledge hub.
The ATAL Academy Offline Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) for 2026-27 will be conducted at AICTE-approved institutions across various fields, including engineering and management. Basic FDPs will last six days, targeting assistant professors and postgraduate students, while Advanced FDPs will span twelve days for senior faculty, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration and problem-solving linked to industry needs.
Key focus areas include quantum technology, hydrogen energy, and Industry 4.0/5.0. The program's design incorporates hands-on assignments and requires participants to achieve a minimum attendance of 70%. This initiative aims to enhance India's higher education framework by aligning faculty development with national innovation and sustainability goals.
