AIXTRON to Establish New Semiconductor Manufacturing Plant in Malaysia with €40 Million Investment
AIXTRON SE plans to build a new manufacturing facility in Penang, Malaysia, with an investment of €40 million. The facility will focus on local assembly and testing of semiconductor products, enhancing AIXTRON's presence in the Southeast Asian semiconductor ecosystem. Operations are expected to begin in spring 2027, with first shipments by the end of that year. The existing sites in Germany and the UK will continue to serve as key development centers.

AIXTRON SE will establish a new manufacturing plant in Penang, Malaysia, to enhance its competitiveness in the semiconductor equipment sector. The investment of approximately €40 million will occur in 2026 and 2027, focusing on local assembly, engineering support, and procurement.
The plant is set to begin operations in spring 2027, with initial shipments expected in the second half of 2027. AIXTRON's European facilities in Herzogenrath, Germany, and Cambridge, UK, will remain central to its operations, complementing the new site without any personnel reductions in Europe.
