Algoma Steel Group Inc. plans to release its Q2 2026 financial results on July 29, followed by a conference call on July 30. The company is transitioning to electric arc furnace (EAF) steelmaking, aiming to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 70% and introducing its new steel brand, Volta™, produced sustainably in Canada.
Meanwhile, Alcoa reported second-quarter revenue of $4 billion, the highest in its history, with net income of $407 million. The aluminum segment generated record adjusted EBITDA of $1.1 billion, benefiting from increased shipments and higher LME prices.
Demand remains strong, especially in North America and Europe, where supply is constrained. This indicates potential opportunities for investment in green technologies and sustainable production methods.
