Alpex Solar Advances ALMM Inclusion as 2.2GW Cell Plant Readies for Production
Alpex Solar's 2.2GW cell manufacturing facility is nearing production, with its ALMM List-II application under MNRE evaluation. This investment signifies Alpex's strategic shift towards upstream manufacturing and vertical integration.

Alpex Solar's 2.2GW cell plant has been completed within 15 months and is preparing for production. The company's ALMM List-II application is under review by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), following the amendment of the ALMM Order in December 2024, effective June 1, 2026.
Alpex is expanding its capabilities with plans for a 5GW ingot and wafer manufacturing facility by 2030, while its current solar module production capacity is being increased from 1.2GW to 3.6GW. The company reported FY26 operating revenue of INR22.23 billion (US$230 million) and a profit after tax of INR2.02 billion, marking its highest annual profit to date. The expansion may enhance Alpex's competitive position in the solar manufacturing market, but it also faces challenges from fluctuating demand and global supply chain dynamics.
