Alton Recreation Center to Receive $1.1 Million Energy-Efficient Upgrades with FEMA Grant
The Alton Recreation Center is set for significant upgrades including a solar microgrid, backup generator, and energy-efficient HVAC system, funded by a $1.1 million FEMA grant. The project aims to prepare the center as a temporary shelter, initiated after Hurricane Hanna. Currently in the design phase, the upgrades are expected to be completed by 2027.
