Andhra Pradesh Energy Minister Confirms No Electricity Tariff Increase Amid Infrastructure Expansion
Andhra Pradesh Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar announced that the government has not raised electricity tariffs since taking office and will not do so in the future. He inaugurated a 33/11 KV substation in Kasinapalli village, part of a broader initiative to construct 200 substations statewide. The Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme aims to provide 24-hour rural power supply. Ongoing power works worth Rs. 7,000 crore are underway, including efforts to reduce power costs. The PM Surya Ghar scheme offers subsidies for solar panel installations.

Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar stated that Andhra Pradesh has not increased electricity tariffs since the coalition government assumed office. At the inauguration of a 33/11 KV substation in Kasinapalli, he highlighted a goal to enhance power supply stability through the construction of around 200 substations statewide.
The Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme aims for 24-hour power supply in rural areas. Ongoing works worth Rs. 7,000 crore include improvements in voltage and reductions in power charges. The PM Surya Ghar scheme provides subsidies up to Rs. 78,000 for solar installations, benefiting households and farmers.
