HYDROGENMETHANOL

A green methanol project in Guyang County, Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, has been approved with a total investment of RMB 420 million. Managed by Xindao Hydrogen Energy Technology (Baotou) Co., Ltd., the 200,000-ton integrated project will utilize water electrolysis and biomass from agricultural waste to produce green methanol and hydrogen.

The construction is planned from July 2026 to December 2028, with the first phase costing RMB 3.2 billion and expected to start before the end of 2026. Upon completion, the project will generate 140 million cubic meters of hydrogen and 100,000 tons of green methanol annually. The second phase, involving an investment of RMB 1 billion, aims to increase production capacity, ultimately achieving an output of 1.485 billion kWh of green electricity, 291 million cubic meters of green hydrogen, and 200,000 tons of green methanol per year.
