APU's SwarmGuard Rover Wins Gold at EUREKA 2026 for Industrial Safety Innovation
APU's student-led MultiSentinel SwarmGuard AGT Autonomous Mobile Robot received a Gold Medal at the EUREKA International Contest 2026, showcasing advancements in industrial safety. The Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) achieved a Gold Medal at the EUREKA International Brussels Invention and Innovation Contest 2026 for its MultiSentinel SwarmGuard AGT Autonomous Mobile Robot. Developed within APU's Centre of Excellence for Research and Development of Drone and IoT, the rover addresses safety risks in hazardous environments such as semiconductor fabrication and chemical plants.
Utilizing the SCUTTLE AMR platform and ROS2 navigation, it integrates advanced detection capabilities, significantly reducing human exposure to dangers by up to 90%. The project reflects a cross-disciplinary collaboration and has received additional accolades, including recognition at the IDEA 2026 exhibition.
APU's focus on mentorship ensures the continuous evolution of such innovations through subsequent student generations, contributing to a sustainable industrial ecosystem.
