Arizona Officials Confirm No Plans for 'Qatar City' Sharia Compound Amid Development of NorthPark
Arizona officials state there are no plans for a Sharia compound named 'Qatar City.' The land, part of the NorthPark residential development, was earmarked for housing TSMC employees. Pulte Homes submitted a development application in October 2021, and TSMC purchased 900 acres for industrial use.

Arizona officials have clarified that there are no plans to build a Sharia compound called 'Qatar City' in the state. The 6,354 acres near the I-17 and Loop 303 in Phoenix is designated for a residential development named NorthPark.
Pulte Homes applied to develop the property in October 2021, intending to accommodate employees of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). Earlier in the year, TSMC acquired approximately 900 acres of the land for industrial purposes. The 'Qatar City' concept originated from a local real estate firm and was propagated online without official endorsement.
