The Assam Budget 2026-27 aims for a Rs 10 lakh crore economy, with significant developments in health and education. The number of medical colleges has doubled from seven to fourteen, while the Ayushman Assam scheme has assisted 7.17 lakh people.

New universities and model schools are being established in tea garden regions. Infrastructure efforts include 21,700 km of roads and 1,339 bridges, highlighted by the Gohpur-Numaligarh underwater tunnel. The Tata Semiconductor project at Jagiroad is projected to enhance industrial growth and job creation, supported by Rs 5.18 lakh crore in investment commitments through the Advantage Assam initiative.
