Assam Chief Minister Disburses ₹131 Crore to 12,976 Entrepreneurs under Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan 1.0
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma distributed over ₹131 crore to 12,976 beneficiaries in the second tranche of the Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan 1.0. The initiative aims to support aspiring entrepreneurs with collateral-free loans. The CM highlighted the need for job creation for the state's growing youth population and mentioned significant economic growth, alongside upcoming projects that will generate employment. Discussions are ongoing to expand the initiative to benefit nearly 10 lakh youths.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma disbursed over ₹131 crore to 12,976 entrepreneurs as part of the second tranche of the Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan 1.0. The scheme aids aspiring entrepreneurs with collateral-free loans ranging from ₹2 lakh to ₹5 lakh.
Approximately 35 lakh youths are expected to enter the workforce in Assam over the next five years. The state's economy has increased from ₹3.5 lakh crore to ₹8.5 lakh crore over five years, creating new employment opportunities.
Major upcoming projects include a semiconductor facility, thermal power project, and fertilizer plant. The initiative aims to expand benefits to nearly 10 lakh youths.
