ATC Manufacturing Secures Air Force Contract for Thermoplastic Composites
ATC Manufacturing has received a contract from the Air Force Research Laboratory to develop large-scale thermoplastic composite structures. This initiative aims to enhance defense manufacturing capabilities, reduce costs, and promote job growth in Idaho.

ATC Manufacturing has been awarded a contract by the Air Force Research Laboratory for the program titled 'Thermoplastic Composites for Large High-Rate Aircraft Structures.' This contract facilitates the use of a large-format hydraulic press designed for high-rate thermoplastic processing, enabling the formation of parts up to 122 inches by 61 inches.
The initiative aims to produce lighter, corrosion-resistant aircraft structures that can replace existing legacy materials, thereby supporting U.S. defense systems. ATC will collaborate with Anduril Industries and Toray Advanced Composites on this program, which is projected to generate job opportunities in Post Falls, Idaho, including engineering roles. The expansion aligns with national security objectives and the growth of domestic manufacturing capabilities.
