Auvere Power Plant Restarts Operations Ahead of Schedule Amid High Electricity Prices
Enefit Power completed repairs at the Auvere Power Plant ahead of schedule on February 4, synchronizing it with the grid. The plant, now operational, is expected to operate alongside the Eesti Power Plant’s sixth unit, under repair until February 12. Despite the restart, it is uncertain how much this will affect high electricity prices in Estonia, where demand currently exceeds 5,000 megawatts. January's average electricity price reached €154.44 per megawatt-hour, the highest since 2024.

Enefit Power has successfully completed repairs to the Auvere Power Plant's heat exchangers ahead of schedule, bringing it back online on February 4. The plant was synchronized with the power grid the following evening.
The original repair deadline was February 10, allowing for potential additional issues. The Auvere Power Plant now operates alongside the sixth unit of the Eesti Power Plant, which is under repair until February 12.
Electricity prices in Estonia remain high, with January's average reaching €154.44 per megawatt-hour. Demand in Estonia has surpassed 5,000 megawatts, and the impact of the Auvere restart on prices remains uncertain.
