Axens and Green Sky Capital Partner for Africa's First SAF Facility in Egypt
Axens and Green Sky Capital are collaborating to establish a 200,000-tpy sustainable aviation fuel production facility in Egypt, projected to commence operations by the end of 2027. This project aims to enhance Egypt's role in renewable fuels and support its energy transition goals.

Axens and Green Sky Capital are developing a 200,000-tons per year sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production facility in Egypt, utilizing Axens' Vegan® HEFA technology. The facility is expected to start production by the end of 2027, using local sources like Used Cooking Oil to aid in the decarbonization of the aviation sector.
Axens will offer its proprietary technology and operational support to optimize performance. A strategic Memorandum of Understanding between the two entities is enhancing SAF yield efficiency, providing GSC a competitive edge in the SAF market. This initiative positions Egypt as a key player in the renewable fuels sector within the Mediterranean and Africa.
