Bangladesh Navy Rescues 15 Fishermen from Bay of Bengal After Four Days Adrift
The Bangladesh Navy rescued 15 fishermen who had been stranded for four days due to engine failure. This operation highlights ongoing efforts to ensure maritime safety and support local fishing communities.

On March 31, the Bangladesh Navy rescued 15 fishermen and their trawler that had been adrift in the Bay of Bengal since March 27 after engine failure. The rescue occurred approximately six nautical miles west of St.
Martin's Lighthouse during routine patrols. The crew faced food and clean water shortages before being located and assisted by the Navy. After their rescue, the fishermen were transported to the Navy Forward Base in St.
Martin for food, clean water, and first aid, with all individuals reported in good health and later reunited with their families. The Navy's ongoing maritime patrols are crucial for safeguarding local fisheries and supporting the blue economy.
