Bhargavastra Micro-Missile Counter-Drone System Final Trials Set for Late 2026
The Bhargavastra micro-missile counter-drone system is nearing completion of its final trials, expected by late 2026. This system enhances India’s capabilities against drone threats, utilizing both unguided and guided munitions for a multi-layered defense approach.

Solar Industries' Bhargavastra micro-missile counter-drone system is in the final trial phase, anticipated to conclude by the end of 2026. Developed by Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited, the system features a dual-layer defense mechanism that combines unguided micro-rockets for close-range threats and guided micro-missiles for high-value aerial targets.
It is adaptable for ground and naval use, integrating various sensors for effective operation over a detection range exceeding 6 kilometers. The Indian Army and Air Force are involved in trials, indicating its joint-service applicability.
Bhargavastra also aims at cost-effectiveness, offering a scalable solution against drone threats, which is crucial for India’s defense strategy against adversaries using drones for surveillance and attacks. Its successful deployment aligns with India's self-reliance goals in defense manufacturing.
