The Bihar government has introduced a Semiconductor Policy 2026 aimed at promoting industrialization in the state. The policy allows for the allocation of one acre of land to industrialists for a token fee of Rs 1 for every Rs 100 crore invested in semiconductor projects.

Additionally, it includes waivers on stamp duty and registration fees along with subsidies. The government targets a 5% contribution from the semiconductor sector to Bihar's economy within five years and plans to attract approximately Rs 25,000 crore in investments.

A Bihar Semiconductor Mission has been established to oversee the initiative, which includes the setup of three semiconductor units with over Rs 5,000 crore in investment. The policy also stipulates conditions for employment of locals, investment limits, and environmental compliance. Benefits are available to startups, MSMEs, and large investors in various sectors including IT and electronics.
