Bill Shields Joins Versa Vascular as CEO Amid $42 Million Series C Funding
Bill Shields has been appointed CEO of Versa Vascular, succeeding David Hovda, who will remain an advisor. Versa Vascular has increased its Series C funding to $42 million to support clinical studies for their tricuspid repair technology.

Versa Vascular has appointed Bill Shields as CEO, transitioning from his 15-year tenure at Medtronic, where he was VP and GM of the Transcatheter Mitral and Tricuspid Therapies division. The company, which originated from Occam Labs in 2020, is advancing its AdapTR transcatheter tricuspid repair device, focusing on less invasive treatment options for patients with leaky tricuspid valves.
The newly raised $42 million in Series C funding will facilitate ongoing first-in-human studies outside the U.S. and an early feasibility study in the U.S. The competitive landscape includes Abbott’s TriClip TEER and Medtronic's investigational Intrepid TMTR/TTVR system, indicating a growing interest in minimally invasive valve repair technologies.
