BTRY AG, a startup based in Switzerland, has received the Hermes Startup Award for its development of ultrathin solid-state batteries. These batteries are capable of operating at temperatures up to 150 °C and can be charged and discharged within one minute at a thickness of just 0.1 mm.
They leverage semiconductor production technologies to enhance performance and reduce material consumption, while also eliminating toxic solvents from the manufacturing process. The batteries are positioned to enable the next generation of smart devices, including IoT sensors and medical applications.
