Carbogenics Secures $3 Million Funding for Carbon Removal Technology Expansion

BIOFUELSCARBON CAPTURE

Carbogenics has closed a $3 million funding round to support the growth of its carbon removal technology, CreChar®, which converts biomass waste into a carbon-negative biochar. Established in 2016, Carbogenics produces an additive to enhance anaerobic digestion efficiency, generating biogas and liquid fertilizer.

Investors include Dangerous Ventures, Green Angel Ventures, and the University of Edinburgh's Old College Capital. The company aims to expand operations across the UK and Europe and initiate US manufacturing to tackle biomass waste, particularly in New Mexico. Carbogenics is based at the University of Edinburgh, collaborating with academics and the UK Biochar Research Centre.
