Carbon Centric Secures $9M Enova Grant for Carbon Capture Project in Skogn, Norway

BIOPOWERBIOFUELSCARBON CAPTURE

Carbon Centric, a Norwegian company, has received over $9 million in grant funding from Enova for a carbon capture facility at Norske Skog's bioenergy plant in Skogn. This facility will address CO2 emissions primarily from steam production using sustainable biomass and aims to capture approximately 100,000 tonnes of biogenic emissions annually.

The Enova grant covers 50% of the pre-project funding, with a final investment decision expected by 2027. Enova's funding comes from the Climate and Energy Fund, supporting projects aligned with Norway's sustainability goals.

This grant is part of Enova's 'Industry 2050' program, which promotes green technologies and industrial carbon capture in Norway. The Skogn facility is projected to commence operations in 2028-2029.
