Cathay Pacific Doubles Corporate SAF Commitments to 17,400 Tonnes in 2025 with Global Partners
Cathay Pacific has doubled its corporate Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) commitments in 2025, with 17 global partners pledging 17,400 tonnes. This commitment is a 180% increase from 2024 and is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 54,600 tonnes. Notable partners include Microsoft and Kuehne + Nagel. The airline aims to scale SAF use through strategic investments and partnerships while emphasizing the need for supportive policies to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

In 2025, Cathay Pacific's Corporate Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Programme achieved record growth, with commitments from 17 global partners totaling 17,400 tonnes, marking a 180% increase from 2024. This commitment is projected to reduce lifecycle carbon emissions by about 54,600 tonnes.
New partner Microsoft joined the initiative, while Kuehne + Nagel remained the largest cargo contributor. The programme was supported by key suppliers such as Neste and Shell Aviation. Cathay also made strategic investments in SAF production and launched a platform for individual contributions to aviation decarbonisation. The airline's CEO emphasized the importance of collaboration and supportive policies for scaling SAF use towards the industry's 2050 net-zero target.
