Cessna's Citation Ascend Business Jet Enters Service After FAA Certification
Cessna's new business jet, the Citation Ascend, has officially entered service following its delivery to an unnamed customer. Announced in 2023 at the European Business Aviation Convention in Geneva, the aircraft received FAA type certification in November 2025.
The Citation Ascend is an enhanced version of the 560XL family, featuring improved performance, a new cockpit, and a customizable flat floor cabin accommodating up to 12 passengers. It is equipped with the Garmin G5000 avionics suite, which includes advanced technologies such as Autothrottle, dual flight management systems, and synthetic vision.
The jet is powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada's PW545D engines, reaching speeds of up to 507 mph and a maximum altitude of 45,000 feet. It can utilize up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel and has a range of 2,233 miles with four passengers onboard. The starting price is approximately $17 million.
