CFE to Invest MX$64.3 Million in Queretaro Energy Infrastructure by 2026
CFE will increase its investment in Queretaro by 51.3% to MX$64.3 million in 2026, focusing on transmission infrastructure and substation modernization. This is part of a national plan to add 6,000MW capacity and support industrial growth in the Bajío region, while facilitating private renewable investments across 11 states and meeting climate commitments.

CFE will allocate MX$64.3 million to Queretaro in 2026, reflecting a 51.3% increase from 2025. The funding will enhance electrical transmission and distribution infrastructure, including maintenance, substation upgrades, and new strategic developments.
Key projects involve the Conín-Marqués Oriente and San Ildefonso-Tepeyac transmission lines. Governor Mauricio Kuri González noted that CFE plans to invest MX$1.2 billion in Queretaro's energy infrastructure, expanding capacity for industrial growth.
This initiative supports President Sheinbaum's strategy to generate 6,000MW through new plants, with CFE maintaining 54% of national electricity generation and private investments at 46%. A recent call for private projects aims to mobilize US$4.75 billion across 11 states.
