Chevron Aims for Net-Zero Emissions by 2050 with Sustainable Initiatives in Thailand

BIOFUELSCARBON CAPTURE

Chevron is targeting net-zero greenhouse gas emissions in Scope 1 and Scope 2 from its exploration and production operations by 2050. The company's sustainability strategy is built on three pillars: Clean Operations, Partnerships, and Organizational Capabilities.

Key initiatives include a biogas project in Songkhla province, developed with the Prince of Songkla University, which has reduced firewood consumption by 30%, saved 130,000-180,000 baht annually, and cut carbon emissions by 425 tonnes per year. Additionally, Chevron's Foster Future Forests project aims to restore 100 rai of urban forest in Rayong province to enhance carbon sequestration and biodiversity. The Marine Ecology Camp program offers university students in Thailand opportunities to learn marine science and promote environmental awareness.
