Chhattisgarh Proposes Renewable Energy Tariffs for FY 2026-27
The Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission has proposed generic tariffs for renewable energy, setting a levelised tariff for solar PV projects at Rs. 3.40 per unit. This initiative aims to establish pricing stability for developers and facilitate investment in renewable energy projects in the state.

The Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (CSERC) has proposed generic tariffs for renewable energy projects for the financial year 2026-27. Tariffs include Rs. 3.40 per unit for solar photovoltaic (PV) projects (0.5 MW to 2 MW) and a tiered structure for small hydro projects, with rates from Rs. 7.47 to Rs. 7.87 per unit based on capacity.
For biogas and non-fossil fuel co-generation plants, a two-part tariff mechanism is proposed, with fixed and variable charges totaling Rs. 11.11 per unit. Operational norms set a Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF) of 21% for solar and 90% for biogas.
Stakeholders can provide feedback until June 5, 2026, with a public hearing on June 9, 2026. The final tariffs will impact projects commissioned during FY 2026-27.
