Circle K Transitions from Gas to EV Chargers in Norway
A Circle K station near Oslo has replaced gas pumps with fast EV chargers, reflecting Norway's shift to 97% EV sales. The move enhances charging infrastructure in a leading EV market, catering to increasing demand and improving driver experience.

A Circle K gas station in Berger, Norway, has begun converting from fossil fuels to electric vehicle (EV) charging by removing gas pumps and installing Kempower fast chargers. This transition is part of a broader trend in Norway, where approximately 97% of new car sales are now pure electric vehicles.
The station previously had eight fuel pumps and has now reduced that number to six while adding new charging infrastructure designed for efficient power distribution. This change may improve the charging experience for drivers, reducing wait times and simplifying payment processes.
Norway's shift away from fossil fuels reflects a growing commitment to cleaner transportation and may signal economic advantages in areas with high EV adoption. However, the fossil fuel industry's impact on public health and the environment continues to be a concern.
