Citra Space Corp Secures $15M Series A for Space Object Identification Technology
Citra Space Corp has raised $15 million in Series A funding to enhance its space object identification technology. This capital, led by Washington Harbour Partners, aims to tackle significant gaps in understanding objects in orbit, crucial for both commercial and governmental applications.

Citra Space Corp has successfully closed a $15 million Series A funding round, primarily from Washington Harbour Partners, to advance its space object identification capabilities. Founded in 2024 by former U.S.
Space Force and Air Force officers, Citra focuses on the challenges of identifying over 35,000 objects currently orbiting Earth, of which around 10,000 lack sufficient context for identification. This funding will accelerate product development that merges space and ground-based data, addressing critical gaps in object characterization and understanding behavior.
As the number of active satellites has increased from 2,000 in 2019 to over 10,000 today, the need for improved situational awareness becomes paramount, especially regarding potential threats. The investment reflects a strategic move to enhance national security and operational decision-making in space.
