CMA CGM has added the CMA CGM Monte Cristo, a 15,000 TEU dual-fuel methanol container ship, to its fleet. The vessel was delivered by CSSC Dalian Shipbuilding Heavy Industry in Tianjin, marking the company's 400th fully-owned vessel.
This addition aligns with CMA CGM's strategy to enhance sustainable shipping solutions. Previously, the company held a naming ceremony for another dual-fuel methanol ship, CMA CGM Eugenie. The container shipping industry is increasingly adopting methanol as an alternative marine fuel, necessitating an expansion of green methanol availability in ports to meet rising demand.
