DACS and Indian Army Finalize Supply Rates at Kolkata Meeting
DACS and the Indian Army agreed on new supply rates for perishable items and meat during an April 6 meeting. The three-year contract, effective from April 1, 2026, aims to enhance operational stability and support local farmers in Sikkim.

On April 6, 2026, DACS and Indian Army officials finalized supply rates for the current financial year at the Eastern Command headquarters in Kolkata. The meeting, chaired by Major General Sandeep Sinha, included discussions on supply rates for perishable items and meat for Army units in Sikkim, resulting in a reasonable increase over previous rates.
A three-year contract system was reinstated, effective from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2029, to replace the annual renewal process. This change aims to provide stability in operations and improve financial planning for local farmers. The long-standing relationship between DACS and the Army suggests a reliable supply chain for the region's needs.
