DHL Expands SAF Collaboration with IAG Cargo to Reduce Emissions
DHL Group enhances its sustainable aviation fuel collaboration with IAG Cargo under a five-year agreement, targeting a reduction of 640,000 tonnes of CO₂e. The initiative aims to uplift approximately 240 million liters of SAF at London Heathrow, aligning with DHL's goal to raise sustainable aviation fuel usage to 30% by 2030.

DHL Group has initiated a significant expansion of its sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) collaboration with IAG Cargo, which includes a five-year agreement and a prior renewal set for 2025. This partnership aims to uplift around 240 million liters of SAF at London Heathrow Airport, leading to a reduction of approximately 640,000 tonnes of lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions from DHL Express cargo transported on British Airways flights.
The SAF, certified by International Sustainability & Carbon Certification, achieves a 90% reduction in lifecycle emissions compared to fossil fuels. This collaboration is expected to enhance DHL's capability to meet increasing demand for emissions-reduction services, with a potential total of over 1 million tonnes of emissions reductions across the DHL Group. The strengthened partnership underscores the importance of stable SAF access as customers pursue sustainable transport solutions.
