During the commissioning of the Trafalgar Basketball Facility, Prime Minister Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit announced the project as a significant investment in community development and youth empowerment in Dominica.

He highlighted the facility's upgrade as a major improvement and encouraged island residents to utilize it for exercise and wellness. Skerrit discussed ongoing investments in the Roseau Valley, including geothermal energy, tourism support, and infrastructure upgrades, with the geothermal project expected to commence this year.

He mentioned the transformative cable car project, emphasizing its potential to boost employment and tourism. Skerrit urged the community to protect the new facility from vandalism and expressed gratitude to the Caribbean Development Bank and the Basic Needs Trust Fund for their support. He reaffirmed the government's commitment to further development in the area and officially handed over the facility to the residents of Trafalgar.
