easyJet and Jet Zero Collaborate on Hydrogen-Powered Blended-Wing Aircraft
easyJet partners with Jet Zero to advance blended-wing aircraft technology for hydrogen engines, targeting 2030 for the first model.

easyJet has entered a collaboration with Jet Zero, a US startup focused on developing blended-wing aircraft technology compatible with hydrogen propulsion. Jet Zero, established in 2021 and supported by the US Air Force, NASA, and the FAA, aims to unveil its initial aircraft by 2030.
A $235 million contract from the US Air Force mandates the completion of a working prototype by the first quarter of 2027. Furthermore, a recent survey reveals that 53% of UK respondents advocate for faster government action towards zero-carbon aviation. Regulatory delays pose a risk to the timely development of these technologies.
