EBRD Invests Record €1.3 Billion in 26 Projects in Egypt in 2025

The EBRD invested a record €1.3 billion in Egypt across 26 projects in 2025, with 70% aimed at the private sector and 60% at green finance. Key investments included €200 million to the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company for grid upgrades and €68 million for Orange Egypt’s 5G license.
Overall, the EBRD deployed €2.8 billion in six SEMED economies, marking an increase from €2.4 billion in 2024. Cumulative investments in Egypt since 2012 total over €13.5 billion. The bank forecasts Egypt's GDP growth at 5.3% for 2026, driven by various economic factors.
