Eclipse: First Breton Launcher for Small Satellites Set for 2026 Trials
Eclipse, a 20-tonne launcher for small satellites, will conduct its first engine tests in summer 2026 in Brittany. The project aims to transport payloads of 150 to 200 kg to altitudes around 600 km, utilizing liquefied biomethane as fuel.

Eclipse, a new small satellite launcher, is being developed by three engineers and will weigh 20 tonnes with a total thrust of 24 tonnes. The project has joined the incubation program at Le Poool x La French Tech Rennes-Saint-Malo.
Engine tests are scheduled for summer 2026 in Brittany. Eclipse will have a length of 18 meters and a diameter of 1.20 meters, capable of delivering payloads of 150 to 200 kg to approximately 600 km altitude.
The fuel will consist of liquefied biomethane and liquid oxygen. The launcher will not be reusable, but designed for revalorization, indicating a focus on sustainability and potential industry impact.
