EG On The Move Wins Appeal for Merseyside Filling Station Construction
EG On The Move has secured approval to construct a new filling station in Maghull, Merseyside, after a successful appeal against local authority refusal. This development is significant as it represents a new entry into the fuel sector and supports the growth of EV infrastructure in the region.
EG On The Move (EGOTM) has been granted permission to build a new filling station in Maghull, Merseyside, following an appeal against Sefton Council's refusal. The project involves demolishing a derelict house to construct a petrol station with three pumps, two jet-wash bays, and four electric vehicle charging points.
The initial refusal was based on concerns regarding public engagement and the design's compatibility with the local environment, as well as the absence of a road safety audit. However, the Planning Inspectorate determined that the project would enhance the area.
EGOTM's request for a costs order against Sefton Council was denied. This development could influence future planning applications by establishing precedent for modern fuel infrastructure.
