Electra and POSCO Forge Partnership to Advance Clean Iron Production Technology
Electra and POSCO have established a joint development agreement to enhance clean iron production technologies. This partnership aims to integrate Electra's electrochemical processes with POSCO's direct-reduction ironmaking capabilities to facilitate decarbonization in steel manufacturing.

Electra has entered a joint development agreement with POSCO to scale its clean iron production technologies. The collaboration will involve testing the integration of POSCO's decarbonization innovations with Electra's Clean Iron system for commercial applications.
POSCO Investment has also made a strategic investment in Electra, marking its first overseas initiative focused on climate solutions. Electra produces 99% pure iron for electric arc furnace steelmaking and aims to expand its reach to more customers.
Recent funding milestones include a $30 million venture debt from J.P. Morgan and a $50 million award from Breakthrough Energy Catalyst, indicating strong market interest and potential growth.
