Eni Launches HPC6 Supercomputer to Enhance Energy Transition

The HPC6 supercomputer at Eni's Green Data Center in Ferrera Erbognone has been operational since November 2024, achieving 606 PFlops, an increase from 70 million to 606 million trillion operations per second. This system ranks sixth in the global Top500 and is the most powerful for industrial use.
Key features include a liquid cooling system for improved energy efficiency. HPC6 will optimize the operational efficiency of industrial plants, enhance geological studies for CO2 storage, and aid in the development of advanced batteries and biofuel supply chains. Its capabilities are expected to drive new business opportunities and strengthen collaborations in the energy sector.
