E.ON Hungária is investing 350-400 million forints annually to create 3,300 safe nesting sites for returning storks in Hungary. This year, the company installed 70 new stork nest supports and renovated 80 nests, mostly before the breeding season.
In the Győr region, medium-voltage power lines were rebuilt over 8.5 kilometers to enhance bird safety. E.ON's efforts also include installing 120 nesting boxes for birds of prey on high-voltage pylons.
In 2025, 912 young storks were ringed in Transdanubia, indicating the success of these measures. The company aims to balance bird protection with power grid stability.
