Ethiopia and Burundi concluded their Second Joint Ministerial Commission in Addis Ababa, aiming to bolster cooperation across multiple sectors such as defense, trade, transport, agriculture, energy, and health. Both nations emphasized the need for strengthened economic ties, acknowledging that current trade and investment levels are suboptimal.
The Ethiopian Foreign Minister, Gedion Timothewos, highlighted the importance of implementing agreed initiatives, while Burundi's Foreign Minister, Édouard Bizimana, expressed optimism about translating political will into tangible benefits.
