EU Funds €128 Million for Polish LNG Terminal Expansion
The European Regional Development Fund has allocated €128 million for the LNG terminal expansion in Świnoujście, Poland. This initiative aims to diversify gas sources and enhance energy security in the region.

A grant agreement has been signed by the Polish government and Polskie LNG for the expansion of the Świnoujście LNG terminal, supported by €128 million from the EU. This terminal is the sole facility of its kind in Northern, Central, and Eastern Europe and is a critical component of Poland's energy infrastructure, which has received over €2 billion in investment since 2007.
The project is part of the European Projects of Common Interest and complements the Baltic Pipe project, which secured a €215 million EU grant to enable gas transport from the North Sea to Poland. This expansion is expected to significantly improve energy security and diversify natural gas supplies in the region.
